Kurdish Agreement to Withdraw Candidate for Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament


Baghdad: Parliamentary sources revealed a Kurdish agreement to withdraw the nomination of Shakhwan Abdullah from the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc for the position of Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament. This agreement involves passing the position to the candidate of the Position bloc, Ribwar Karim, with the support of the Coordination Framework.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision to withdraw Shakhwan Abdullah’s candidacy was reached through negotiations among the Kurdish parties. The agreement signifies a strategic move to consolidate support for Ribwar Karim, ensuring a smoother electoral process for the position of Second Deputy Speaker.



The Coordination Framework’s backing of Ribwar Karim further strengthens his candidacy, highlighting the alliances being formed within the parliamentary framework. This shift in candidacy is expected to influence the political dynamics within the parliament, as the parties work towards achieving their respective objectives.
