Baghdad: The National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) has released a copy of the political agreement that was signed by members of the National Political Council. This agreement was instrumental in the formation of the council and played a pivotal role in the nomination of Haibat al-Halbousi for the position of Speaker of Parliament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Political Council, which consists of several Sunni parties, recently declared the nomination of Haibat al-Halbousi for the role of Speaker of Parliament. In contrast, the Azm Alliance, a constituent member of the council, announced its separate nomination of its leader, Muthanna al-Samarrai, for the same position.

Al-Samarrai emphasized during a press conference that any candidate put forward does not officially represent the National Political Council.
