Baghdad: The Head of the Progress Party, Mohammed al-Halbousi, affirmed that the constitutional entitlements will proceed according to their constitutionally mandated schedules. Al-Halbousi emphasized that the political processes are advancing without any hitches, ensuring that all constitutional deadlines are met.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi stated in a press release that the initial legal step for electing the Speaker of Parliament and his two deputies was completed within the constitutional framework. He highlighted the commitment and cooperation of all political blocs and forces in adhering to these deadlines, applauding the Supreme Judicial Council for maintaining constitutional procedures and timelines. This, he noted, ensures compliance with legal requirements from the initial election to the completion of the legislative body’s constitutional structure.

Al-Halbousi assured that there are no complications in fulfilling the constitutional requirements, noting that there is ample room for political understanding. He emphasized that all involved parties are conscious of the importance and demands of the current stage, urging everyone to bear the responsibility.

He noted that all steps are proceeding smoothly and in accordance with the constitutional timelines. While acknowledging that disagreements are part of the democratic process, al-Halbousi reassured that these are normal and do not impede the scheduled progress.
