Kirkuk: The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayyad al-Lami, along with a delegation from the syndicate’s council, visited Kirkuk Governorate, where they met with Governor Ribwar Taha Mustafa, the head of the provincial council, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Hafiz, and members of the press community. During the meeting, Al-Lami stated, “We are working in coordination with local governments to provide a professional environment that preserves the dignity of journalists and enhances their national role.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the issue of land allocated to journalists, along with listening to their demands, proposals, and professional needs. Al-Lami emphasized the syndicate’s commitment to pursuing the rights of journalists across all governorates. He noted that the visit to Kirkuk is part of the syndicate’s efforts to address the land issue and directly engage with journalists about their concerns.

Kirkuk Governor Ribwar Taha Mustafa expressed the local government’s support for the press community and its readiness to collaborate with the Journalists Syndicate. He assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to overcoming obstacles and fulfilling the legitimate demands of journalists.

Additionally, the head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Mohammed Ibrahim al-Hafiz, highlighted the significance of journalists’ roles in society. He stated that the council supports efforts to enhance professional freedom and meet journalists’ needs, aiming to serve their aspirations and strengthen media work in the province.
