Istanbul: Iraq topped Turkey’s neighboring countries in the value of its imports of Turkish goods and products for 2025, with a value of $10.3 billion.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, official data published today by the Turkish Ministry of Trade revealed that Turkey’s revenues from its exports to neighboring countries last year reached $28.352 billion. Iraq led the list of neighboring countries with the highest imports, followed by Bulgaria with $4.7 billion, Greece with $3.5 billion, and Syria with $2.6 billion.

The Turkish Ministry of Trade indicated in its report that the country’s exports to its neighboring countries-Iraq, Greece, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, and Syria-registered an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the previous year. The value of these exports in 2024 was $27,092,772,000.

In 2025, exports to Syria recorded the highest annual growth rate at approximately 70 percent, followed by Bulgaria at 6.8 percent and Greece at 4.5 percent. In terms of sectors, chemicals and their products topped the list of Turkish exports to neighboring countries in 2025.

It is worth noting that Turkey’s total exports of goods in 2025 increased by 4.5 percent compared to the previous year, reaching $273.4 billion.
