Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed that "Iraqi medical elites have proven their worth in the most prestigious international medical institutions."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office detailed that Prime Minister Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation of doctors from the 'Loyalty to Iraq Organization,' a group based in London. The delegation was led by consultant physician Dr. Jassim Al-Moussawi, with the Minister of Health also in attendance.
Al-Sudani expressed his gratitude for the group's initiative, highlighting that this marked their third visit to Iraq. He acknowledged their previous contributions, particularly the vital surgeries performed for Iraqi armed forces during the conflict with ISIS. He expressed his support for their pioneering efforts and encouraged them to share their expertise to enhance the skills of Iraqi medical personnel within the nation.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's dedication to backing such initiatives, especially as Iraqi medical professionals have demonstrated their competence in leading global medical institutions. He stated that their involvement in advancing Iraq's healthcare infrastructure is welcomed and will continue to receive government support.
The visiting group conveyed their eagerness to engage in volunteer activities to bolster the health sector. They also noted the readiness of numerous Iraqi doctors overseas to aid in the development of medical services in Iraq, aiming to ensure comprehensive treatment for Iraqi citizens within local hospitals.
