Basra Council Supports Tourism Development and Regulation of Hospitality Sector


Basra: The Basra Provincial Council has expressed its commitment to enhancing the tourism sector by organizing and regulating the operation of hotels and restaurants in the province. The head of the Culture, Tourism, and Media Committee, Dr. Aqeel Talib Al-Fariji, recently held a meeting with the Director of the Basra Tourism Department, Hussein Al-Rubaie, and the representative of Al-Rafidain Association for Tourism Promotion in Iraq, Hussein Qahtan. The discussions aimed at developing the hospitality industry to boost tourism in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Al-Fariji emphasized his support for the tourism sector and acknowledged the efforts of Al-Rafidain Association for Tourism Promotion. He highlighted the necessity for collaboration between government entities and civil society organizations to advance tourism in Basra. The goal is to transform the province into an attractive destination on both local and national fronts. The meeting underscored the strategic importance of in
tegrating official bodies with non-governmental organizations to achieve these objectives.
