Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari attended the National Conference of Iraqi Tribal Leaders on Saturday, held in support of the security forces in Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in his address, the minister emphasized that this national tribal conference embodies the deep and enduring historical relationship between the Iraqi tribes and state institutions, particularly the security forces. This relationship has been, and remains, a cornerstone of Iraq’s security, stability, and unity.

The minister added that Iraqi tribes have never been on the sidelines of events, but rather at the heart of defending the homeland, making sacrifices alongside the security forces in confronting terrorism, organized crime, and all phenomena that targeted citizens’ security and threatened social peace.
