Diyala: Diyala Police Chief, Major General Mohammed Kadhim Attiya, announced the arrest of a dangerous terrorist accused of carrying out car bombings in Diyala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police chief stated that the suspect had initially fled to Sulaymaniyah Governorate before infiltrating Baquba using an alias. However, the vigilance of the security forces and their close monitoring of his movements led to the identification of his location.

He added that following continuous surveillance and based on precise intelligence, detachments from the Al-Tahrir Police Station and the Al-Tahrir Intelligence Office conducted a targeted raid that resulted in his arrest without any casualties. The necessary legal procedures have been initiated against him in preparation for his appearance before the judiciary to receive his punishment.

The Diyala police chief confirmed that this operation sends a message that security forces will continue to pursue all wanted individuals, and there will be no safe haven for anyone who dares to tamper with the security of citizens. He emphasized that the hand of justice will reach all terrorists wherever they may be.
