Baghdad: Secretary General of the Arab Journalists Union, Khaled Miri, affirmed that Iraq and the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate hold a high standing among all Arabs. In his address during the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate’s electoral conference, he expressed his pleasure at attending the event, describing the syndicate as venerable with a history spanning decades.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Miri highlighted the sacrifices made by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, noting the many martyrs and champions of free speech it has produced. He emphasized the significant regional and Arab world role played by the syndicate, under the leadership of its president, Muayyad al-Lami, who has a prominent role in the Arab Journalists Union and enjoys distinguished relationships with all.
Miri concluded his address by celebrating Iraqi journalists, marking the day as a day of freedom. He reassured them that the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate will always remain a platform for truth and freedom of expression.
