President of International Federation of Journalists Highlights Iraq’s Significant Role in Federation’s Activities


Baghdad: The President of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Anthony Bellanger, affirmed that the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate plays a vital role in the Federation’s activities, emphasizing Iraq’s distinguished position within it. In a speech delivered during the electoral conference, Bellanger expressed his pride in attending the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate’s electoral conference in Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Bellanger highlighted the significant contributions of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate to the International Federation of Journalists. He underscored Iraq’s special place within the Federation, acknowledging the sacrifices made by Iraqi journalists in their confrontation with terrorism. Bellanger noted that the Iraqi journalistic community has endured significant losses, with hundreds of journalists becoming martyrs or wounded in the fight against terrorism.



Bellanger also announced the upcoming centennial celebration of the International Federation, scheduled for next May, and expressed his desire for Iraq to actively participate in this milestone event.
