Baghdad: A delegation representing Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Sadrist Movement, visited Sheikh Sami al-Masoudi, head of the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Authority, to express appreciation for his role in organizing the Sha’baniyah pilgrimage.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the delegation was led by Haidar al-Jaberi, director of al-Sadr’s private office. The visit aimed to convey greetings from Sayyid al-Sadr and commend Sheikh al-Masoudi for his prominent role in managing the pilgrimage.
The statement from the Authority highlighted the smooth and well-organized management of the event, which successfully served millions of pilgrims and upheld the significance of the occasion.
The delegation also presented Sheikh al-Masoudi with a gift and a special honor, recognizing his leadership and dedication to his duties, which enhanced the service-oriented work related to religious rituals.
Sheikh Sami al-Masoudi expressed gratitude to Sayyid al-Sadr for the gesture, considering it a badge of pride and a motivation to continue enhancing efforts in serving pilgrims and commemorating religious events.
