Geneva: The second session of the third round of Ukrainian settlement talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States began today, following yesterday’s session which lasted approximately six hours and achieved some progress.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source within the negotiating team added that “work will continue today, Wednesday, on two tracks within the two working teams, the military and the political.”

In a post on the X platform, US envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed progress in the negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict during yesterday’s session. Witkoff added: “President Trump’s success in bringing the two sides of this war together has resulted in tangible progress, and we are proud to work under his leadership to stop the bloodshed in this horrific conflict.”

The police responsible for diplomatic missions in Geneva stated that the second day of negotiations on Ukraine “will be held behind closed doors, away from the media.” A source in the diplomatic police told RIA Novosti: “The heightened security measures associated with the negotiations on Ukraine will remain in place on the second day of the meetings.”
