Baghdad: The head of Khadamat (Services) Alliance, Shibl al-Zaidi, alongside the head of the Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc, Bahaa al-Araji, highlighted the urgency of electing a president as a critical step towards forming a government.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Services Alliance’s media office issued a press release stating that Al-Zaidi hosted Al-Araji, with the head of the Services parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammed Jamil al-Mayahi, and members of the political body also in attendance. The meeting focused on the latest political developments and strategies to meet constitutional requirements.
The statement outlined that both leaders underscored the significance of aligning their visions within the coordination framework. They stressed the essentiality of electing a president as a precursor to establishing a government. Additionally, they discussed the need for the parliament to effectively carry out its legislative and oversight responsibilities to bolster political and institutional stability.
