Baghdad: Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized the importance of finalizing the electoral process, electing the President, forming a government, and prioritizing the public interest over private interests.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Alliance indicated that al-Hakim received a delegation from the Sadiqun parliamentary bloc at his office in Baghdad yesterday evening, in the presence of the National State Forces Alliance bloc. Al-Hakim highlighted the importance of these two blocs and other blocs within the coordinating framework in the political landscape, national decision-making, and maintaining stability in the country. He called for coordinating positions on passing fundamental laws that affect citizens’ interests and state-building, as well as activating oversight mechanisms.
He clarified the nature of the political scene and its developments, emphasizing the importance of finalizing the electoral process, electing the president, forming
a government, and prioritizing the public interest over private interests. He explained that this represents part of the electoral promises made by the political blocs to the citizens.
He also affirmed that Iraq is facing an economic crisis characterized by declining oil prices and increased public spending, calling for fundamental solutions that would stimulate productive sectors, support the private sector, and diversify the national economy.
