PM Affirms The Government’s Commitment To Meeting The Needs Of Christian Citizens


Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed the government’s commitment to meeting the needs of Christian citizens and enhancing public services in their areas, reinforcing their national presence and promoting values of diversity and coexistence.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement came during Al-Sudani’s reception today, Sunday, of a delegation from the Christian Will (Sawiana) Bloc in the Iraqi Parliament. The meeting addressed the general situation in the country, recent political developments, and the ongoing efforts of national forces to complete constitutional milestones, particularly the election of the President and the formation of a new government.



Discussions also focused on issues related to the Christian community, including improving services in their areas, especially in the Nineveh Plains, to ensure citizens’ needs are met and their living conditions are enhanced.



The Prime Minister expressed his pride in the Christian community as one of the fundamental pillars of Iraqi society, highlighting its significant role across political, cultural, and social milestones in the country’s history.



For their part, the delegation members emphasized their commitment, as a parliamentary bloc, to supporting the state’s course and actively contributing to legislation that strengthens government efforts in reconstruction and development, fostering stability and serving the aspirations of citizens.
