Basra Police Arrest 50 for Violating Ramadan Regulations, Close 5 Restaurants


Basra: In a significant enforcement action, Basra police have arrested 50 individuals for violating regulations and instructions during the holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, five restaurants have been closed for failing to uphold the sanctity of the month and not adhering to applicable instructions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Police Command issued a statement detailing the outcome of a recent field campaign. The campaign was aimed at monitoring public fasting during Ramadan, leading to the arrests and restaurant closures. The Police Command stressed that these actions are part of efforts to preserve the sanctity of Ramadan, respect those who are fasting, and ensure compliance with public life regulations.



The statement from the Police Command further urged shop owners and citizens to comply with the regulations and cooperate with security forces. The Command highlighted that such cooperation would contribute to creating a spiritual atmosphere and maintaining public order during the holy month.
