Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, highlighted the necessity for cooperation and integration among various security agencies and sectors during security operations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, shared an Iftar meal with officers and students of the Police College in Baghdad, alongside the Minister of Interior. Al-Sudani extended his congratulations on the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the noble values such as patience, tolerance, and dedication, which are reflected in the performances of those in the Ministry of Interior and other security agencies as they face numerous challenges.
Al-Sudani remarked that choosing a career in the Police College and security institutes is a commitment to honor, sacrifice, and national service. He emphasized that these individuals will be the future leaders and that society relies on them for progress. He further noted that security personnel serve as the primary line of defense for state stability and societal security.
He underscored the significance of wisdom, courage, adherence to the law, and discipline, emphasizing that teamwork is vital for successful security operations. Al-Sudani also stressed that integrity and transparency are essential for building trust between security personnel and the community.
He highlighted the necessity for cooperation and integration among various agencies and sectors to fulfill the country’s higher interests, stressing that the relationship between police officers and the community should be based on trust and distinction.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Interior has invested strategically in the Police College students over the past three years, resulting in thousands of graduates. The Ministry continues to provide and enhance training programs to achieve the highest levels of efficiency.
Al-Sudani articulated a clear vision for the security sector, focusing on preparing young leaders with innovative thinking to tackle various challenges. He highlighted the importance of keeping pace with technological and digital developments as a foundation for security work.
He expressed confidence in the youth, recognizing their potential and capabilities, and emphasized the importance of long-term investment in them for nation-building. He urged giving the youth opportunities to demonstrate their abilities, asserting their capacity to take on responsibilities.
Al-Sudani instructed adherence to the law and its professional execution to maintain the state’s prestige and sovereignty while upholding human rights standards, regarded as significant achievements of the political process post-2003.
He concluded by emphasizing a unifying national identity and a primary affiliation to Iraq as guiding principles for security operations, advocating for professional and independent fulfillment of security duties devoid of discrimination.
