Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein made a phone call today, Sunday, to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. During the call, Fuad Hussein offered his condolences to his counterpart and the Iranian government on the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader and Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and a number of other leaders in the Islamic Republic.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hussein also inquired about the upcoming constitutional procedures in this regard, particularly those related to the mechanism for selecting the Supreme Leader in the coming days. The Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of ending the war and working diligently towards this goal in order to contribute to calming the situation and strengthening stability in the region.
