Al-Araji Discusses Regional Developments with Turkish Ambassador


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met this evening with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Baghdad, Anil Bora Anan, to discuss the latest developments and the recent escalation in the region, and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Araji reiterated Iraq’s firm stance in supporting regional and international efforts to restore calm and stability and prevent the expansion of the ongoing conflict. He stressed the necessity of halting military operations in the region and containing the crisis through a return to dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual understanding, in accordance with international norms and conventions, and by prioritizing reason and wisdom to enhance security and peace in the region and spare its countries and peoples further suffering and escalation.



For his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to support initiatives and efforts aimed at easing tensions and reducing escalation levels, emphasizing Ankara’s commitment to strengthening joint cooperation with Iraq in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
