The Presidency Of Iraq Denounces Attacks On Iraqi Cities And Iran


Baghdad: The Presidency of the Republic has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks targeting Iraqi cities and the violations of Iraqi airspace, describing them as blatant breaches of international law and norms, and a direct threat to Iraq’s security and sovereignty.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency also expressed its denunciation of the attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, labeling them as unacceptable actions that could escalate regional tensions and pose dangerous consequences, undermining the security and stability of the region’s peoples.



The official statement from the Presidency emphasized Iraq’s steadfast position against any violation of state sovereignty or use of force outside the framework of international law. It reiterated that respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states is a fundamental principle of international relations that must not be compromised.



The Presidency called for an immediate cessation of the attacks and advocated for a return to dialogue and diplomatic engagement as the sole viable means to achieve solutions that safeguard security and stability, while preventing further regional escalation and its serious repercussions.



Additionally, the Presidency warned that the continuation of such attacks could have severe humanitarian and security consequences. It urged the international community, particularly regional and international organizations, to take urgent and effective measures to prevent further escalation and to protect regional and global peace and stability.
