Erbil: Gulf Keystone, the company that operates oil fields in the Kurdistan Region, announced today a temporary halt to oil production and the implementation of necessary measures to protect its employees.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Gulf Keystone explained in a statement: “The suspension of oil production is solely a precautionary measure; otherwise, the recent events in the region have not caused any damage to the oil fields or their resources.”

The company indicated that it is closely monitoring the situation. It is mentioned that Dana Gas had announced on Saturday that it had halted gas production at the Kormor field as a precautionary measure.
