Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s approval to grant transit visas to Iraqi citizens via the Arar border crossing.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, expressed its appreciation for the approval by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the request submitted by the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Riyadh to grant transit visas to Iraqi citizens wishing to return to their homeland via Saudi territory, reaching the Arar border crossing between the two countries.
The Ministry explained that this step came as a result of continuous diplomatic coordination between the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Riyadh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and relevant authorities. The necessary official approvals were obtained to grant entry visas for land transit, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom, ensuring the smooth flow of movement through air and land border crossings.
The Ministry emphasized that transit visas are obtained exclusively through the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Riyadh, in direct coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant authorities. It urged citizens wishing to benefit from this procedure to contact the Crisis Cell at the Embassy or Iraqi embassies and missions abroad in advance to complete the necessary requirements.
