Araqchi Clarifies Iran’s Stance on Targeting US Bases in the Gulf

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed today that targeting US bases in the Gulf is not an attack on its countries, but rather a response to the source of aggression. The statement, made during a phone call with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, comes amid rising tensions in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi briefed Wang Yi on the latest developments following what he referred to as the “American-Zionist aggression.” The conversation highlighted Iran’s position that their actions are directed towards the source of perceived threats, rather than the Gulf states themselves.

Araqchi further emphasized that Tehran harbors no animosity towards the Gulf states and is determined to maintain its good relations with them. His comments aim to reassure neighboring countries that Iran’s military responses are not directed at them, despite the presence of US bases within their borders.
