Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid discussed regional and international developments and the current challenges facing the region in two separate phone calls on Monday with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Wald Sheikh Ghazouani.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement indicated that the two calls addressed ways to enhance joint coordination regarding political and security developments, and the importance of intensifying Arab efforts to de-escalate tensions and support peaceful solutions that preserve the sovereignty of states and safeguard the interests of their people.
The statement emphasized the necessity of unifying positions on issues of common interest, reflecting the depth of the fraternal relations that bind Iraq to the countries of the region.
The leaders expressed their hope for continued consultation and coordination in the coming period, contributing to the consolidation of security and stability and supporting development efforts in the region.
