Baghdad: A drone that attempted to approach the perimeter of Abu Ghraib prison was intercepted by air defenses, the Security Media Cell announced, ensuring no breaches occurred.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell released a statement detailing the incident. The air defenses successfully dealt with the drone in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the security perimeter of the prison remained intact.

Further clarifying the situation, the cell emphasized that Abu Ghraib prison currently does not hold any prisoners convicted of terrorism-related offenses. They also assured that the overall security situation in the area remains stable.

The head of the Security Media Cell called on the public to rely solely on information disseminated by the cell and cautioned against spreading rumors or unverified news, reinforcing the importance of accurate information dissemination.
