Baghdad: The Director General of Maritime Transport and the Iraqi Higher Maritime Authority, Chief Marine Engineer Ahmed Jassim Al-Asadi, affirmed that Iraqi crews and vessels are safe and ready for any emergency, despite the exceptional circumstances the region is experiencing due to the ongoing war.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Asadi explained that the fleet management is monitoring the movement of Iraqi ships around the clock and coordinating directly and continuously with relevant authorities to ensure the highest levels of safety and protection for crews and maritime assets. He noted that the adopted precautionary plans have contributed to enhancing the level of readiness and response to any emergency.
He added that Iraqi sailors are proving their high professionalism and national commitment day after day, performing their duty in transporting goods and securing maritime trade with utmost efficiency and competence, despite the surrounding challenges. He emphasized that the safety of Iraqi personnel remains a top priority that cannot be compromised.
