Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid discussed the latest developments in the region with his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun, by telephone, in light of the ongoing escalation and the war against Iran, and its serious repercussions for the security and stability of the region’s countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, both sides emphasized the necessity of an immediate cessation of military operations and the adoption of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address crises and avoid further escalation, in a manner that preserves the sovereignty of states and achieves international peace and security.

They also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and continuous consultation on issues of common interest and working to elevate the level of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
