Washington: US President Donald Trump announced the destruction of the Iranian navy and its radar and surveillance systems. Trump told reporters: “Everything in Iran has been destroyed.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump elaborated on the situation, stating, “The Iranian regime no longer has air defense or surveillance systems and should prepare for significant damage.” He emphasized that key figures within Iran were targeted and mentioned that there are people within the country seeking immunity, suggesting they may eventually disarm.
The US president further explained his perspective on leadership in Iran, expressing, “A popular figure might be suitable to lead Iran, and I would prefer someone from within Iran, not a Pahlavi.” This statement indicates his preference for leadership emerging from within the current Iranian populace rather than a return to the past monarchy.
Trump also addressed international relations, noting, “Spain objected and prevented us from using its bases, and we will halt all trade with them.” This comment highlights potential diplomatic tensions with Spain following their refusal to allow the use of its military bases for operations related to the situation with Iran.
