Baghdad: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, affirmed that the meeting of the presidencies emphasized support for the government’s measures aimed at protecting Iraq’s autonomy.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Supreme Judicial Council’s media office indicated that the Council’s president, Judge Faiq Zaidan, attended a meeting of the four presidencies held today, Thursday, at Baghdad Palace. The attendees discussed the overall situation in the country, given the regional war, and emphasized their support for the government’s measures aimed at protecting Iraq’s autonomy and security, and strengthening political and social stability, thus ensuring the country avoids the repercussions of regional crises.
During the meeting, the Council president reviewed the judiciary’s procedures for holding accountable those who violated the law by spreading false rumors or publishing material that undermines national unity among the Iraqi people.
