Basra: Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani has announced the formation of a crisis cell dedicated to monitoring the security of oil facilities and vital departments in the province. This decision was revealed during a joint meeting with local government officials, security personnel, and relevant authorities aimed at bolstering security and stability within the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Eidani emphasized at a press conference that the region is experiencing sensitive times due to an ongoing war, despite Iraq not being directly involved. This situation highlights the importance of maintaining the country's stability and safeguarding its institutions and citizens' security.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the local government, the provincial council, and various security and oil industry leaders, including those from the Basra Oil Company, Basra Gas Company, and the South Refineries Company. The discussions focused on enhancing security measures for oil installations and other vital sectors such as electricity, which are crucial for serving citizens and ensuring the city's security.

Al-Eidani stated that the meeting aimed to improve coordination between security forces, private security firms, and the local government, ensuring the protection of oil institutions that are vital to Iraq's economy. He also affirmed that the level of coordination between security forces and relevant authorities was high, allowing for continuous monitoring of any security developments in the province's vital installations.

The security meeting in Basra, chaired by Al-Eidani as the head of the Higher Security Committee in the province, also included discussions with the Provincial Council head Khalaf Al-Badran, security leaders, and representatives from oil companies and committees. The focus was on strengthening joint security coordination and securing vital installations and oil fields to support security stability and protect Basra's economic interests.
