Ministry of Interior Cracks Down on Unlicensed Motorcyclists

Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior has issued a directive concerning motorcycles operating without license plates. The directive specifically targets motorcyclists who are carrying two people and do not have the required license plates.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry has instructed specialized security detachments to enforce the directive and take necessary legal measures against violators. The directive aims to ensure compliance with the applicable laws, which will be enforced beginning March 9, 2026.

The Ministry's statement highlights the importance of adhering to this new regulation and indicates that violators will be held accountable. This move is part of broader efforts to enhance road safety and ensure proper registration of all vehicles on the road.
