Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari has directed security leaders to enhance their deployment and safeguard internal security. A statement from the minister's office indicated that al-Shammari chaired a security conference this evening to hear briefings from the Baghdad (Karkh and Rusafa) security commands. He reviewed incident rates and statistics related to the completion of investigations, as well as discussing the overall security operations in these two commands.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the minister issued several important recommendations aimed at improving security performance in line with the current situation. He emphasized that all field developments in the region are being closely monitored, noting that all security leaders have been instructed to strengthen security deployments and protect internal security in accordance with the law, and to prevent any attempt to disrupt security and order. He stated that the security establishment is working with a national spirit and high morale to serve all Iraqis without exception.
The minister called on citizens to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activity to maintain security and stability in the country, stressing that security agencies are working at full capacity under the current circumstances.
