Masrour Barzani Urges Federal Action Against Attacks on Kurdistan Region

Erbil: Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani called on the federal government and parliament to take a firm stance to put an end to the criminals targeting the Kurdistan Region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani participated in a memorial service for martyr Walat Tahir, a member of the Asayish (security forces) at Erbil International Airport, who was killed in the attacks targeting the city.

The statement from the regional government indicated that during the service, Barzani offered his sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the martyr's family and relatives. Following the service, the Prime Minister visited a hospital in Erbil to check on the condition of those wounded in the attacks, praying for their speedy recovery.

In a statement to the media, Barzani reiterated his condolences to the family of Walat Tahir, emphasizing that the procession of martyrs in Kurdistan continues, and that Walat will not be the first nor the last. He strongly condemned the attacks on the region, labeling them as unjustified aggressions stemming from blind hatred and deep-seated animosity towards Kurdistan and its people.
