Diwaniyah: The Integrity Commission in Diwaniyah, within the Provincial Council, has announced the submission of an official report concerning 92 contracts that are under scrutiny for potential legal and technical violations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of the Integrity Committee in the Diwaniyah Provincial Council, Ahmed Saqr, revealed that the report was submitted to the Public Prosecution Office. The contracts in question involve indicators that necessitate thorough investigation and auditing. Saqr highlighted that the report addresses issues in the telecommunications sector and concerns regarding the misuse of infrastructure projects for private gains, bypassing established legal and technical standards. These actions raise fears of public fund misappropriation and violation of the province’s rights.

Furthermore, the committee has also filed a distinct report on the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood rehabilitation project. This report was based on field observations pointing to subpar execution, inadequate performance by the executing company, and failure to adhere to necessary technical specifications.

The Integrity Committee reiterated its commitment to following these cases in partnership with relevant judicial bodies. This initiative is part of their broader mission to uphold transparency, ensure accountability of responsible parties, and safeguard public resources.
