Najaf: The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) has announced the preparation of a comprehensive service plan to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zaid al-Kharsan, head of the Services Department at the Holy Shrine, stated that the department is implementing a service plan coinciding with the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary and the days of the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is aimed at accommodating the large numbers of pilgrims and providing them with optimal services.

Al-Kharsan explained that the department’s staff has already begun setting up field service points around the holy shrine and on the streets leading to it. The plan includes setting up kiosks with a capacity of up to 7,000 locations and 6,000 locations for deposits to serve the pilgrims.

He further elaborated that the plan encompasses the establishment of eight water distribution points and the deployment of eight garbage compactors to maintain cleanliness in the visitation areas. Additionally, specialized vehicles are provided for visitor services, including street sweepers, dishwashers, cargo trucks, and internal transport vehicles, totaling approximately 70 vehicles operating continuously.

Moreover, the department has laid 341,000 square meters of carpeting for visitor rest areas and prepared 15,000 copies of the Holy Quran and 10,000 copies of pilgrimage books to enhance the spiritual atmosphere. Health services are also included, with 16 fixed health units and 8 mobile units strategically distributed for easy access.

Al-Kharsan added that two covered areas have been set up on Al-Hamami Street near the old guesthouse, with carpeting laid inside. These measures are part of a broader plan by the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine to ensure a suitable environment for visitors in line with the sanctity of the occasion.
