Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region and prospects for restoring calm and stability in a phone call with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two ministers warned of the catastrophic consequences of the expanding crisis, stressing the need to intensify coordination and cooperation to protect the region’s security and stability and prevent the conflict from spreading.

Hussein affirmed Iraq’s consistent and principled stance against war in general, and the current war against the Islamic Republic of Iran in particular, emphasizing the necessity of working towards a ceasefire and containing the repercussions of the conflict.

Both ministers stressed their rejection of attacks targeting Arab states, the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, and the need for joint action to maintain the region’s security and stability.

Both sides affirmed their shared commitment to the strong fraternal and historical ties that bind Iraq and Jordan, and the necessity of continued coordination and cooperation between the two countries to enhance and develop these relations in various fields.
