Tehran: Iranian media outlets reported on Tuesday the assassination of an official in the Iranian General Staff.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Tasnim News Agency stated that “General Asadollah Badfar, head of the Basij militia within the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, was assassinated following joint attacks carried out by the United States and Israel against Iranian military targets.”

It added that “Badfar was an active figure within the Basij structure of the General Staff, having held various positions and responsibilities within this organization over the past years.”
