Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a stern warning against the expansionist policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he claims are leading the region into bloodshed and tears.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan addressed an Iftar dinner hosted by his Justice and Development Party in Ankara, where he highlighted the escalating turmoil in the region. He stated that the upheaval has worsened following the attacks that began on February 28 against Iran, suggesting that the area is on the brink of catastrophe due to what he described as a “network of massacres afflicted by the arrogance of power.”
Erdogan further expressed concerns over Israel’s actions, accusing it of intensifying attacks in Gaza and disregarding the ceasefire, while also initiating attempts to occupy Lebanon. He remarked that even Israeli citizens, who are regularly taking shelter, are expressing that Netanyahu’s leadership is the worst disaster since the Holocaust.
He noted that the repercussions of the current turmoil extend beyond the region, affecting global sectors such as the economy, trade, tourism, and energy. Erdogan remarked that the global economy is facing a period of uncertainty unmatched since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, adding that the future remains unpredictable if the situation persists.
Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s clear stance on the Iranian crisis, advocating for peace and diplomacy over conflict and chaos. He stated Turkey’s commitment to ending regional conflicts and emphasized the need for peace. He also highlighted Turkey’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire and return to negotiations.
He concluded by asserting Turkey’s dedication to preventing further escalation and loss of life, striving to extinguish the growing flames of conflict before they spread further.
