Foreign Traveler’s Smuggling Attempt Foiled at Shalamcheh Border

Shalamcheh: An attempt to smuggle crystal methamphetamine was thwarted at the Shalamcheh border crossing by a foreign traveler.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Border Ports Authority announced the successful prevention of a smuggling attempt involving a quantity of crystal methamphetamine. The narcotics were found in the possession of a foreign traveler at the Shalamcheh border crossing.

The Authority detailed in a press release that the traveler had concealed the drugs inside his body. The discovery was made by the Shalamcheh border crossing directorate in cooperation with the crossing’s narcotics division. Following the arrest, a formal seizure report was prepared. The suspect along with the narcotics was handed over to the Shalamcheh Customs Police Station for further legal action.
