Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan affirmed that the legislative authority has fulfilled a significant obligation by forming most of the permanent parliamentary committees. He described this as a fundamental step to strengthen the legislative and oversight roles, in line with the requirements and needs of the current phase.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan stressed that the Parliament’s leadership is determined to complete this process fully in the coming period to ensure the smooth functioning of the committees and their optimal execution of their constitutional and legislative duties.
He commended the spirit of cooperation and understanding demonstrated by the heads of the parliamentary blocs and members of Parliament, and the responsible national role that contributed to achieving this constitutional and organizational milestone. This reflects everyone’s commitment to consolidating parliamentary work and prioritizing the supreme national interest. He noted that “completing the formation of the parliamentary committees represents a fundamental pillar of the Council’s work, given the essential tasks these committees undertake in studying and refining draft laws and proposals, as well as monitoring government performance and strengthening the Parliament’s oversight role.”
