Baghdad: The official spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, has declared that the targeting of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) positions is a military violation and an attempt to muddy the waters. Al-Nu’man highlighted this in a press release, emphasizing the serious implications of such attacks.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Nu’man stated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, is closely monitoring the situation. The recent attacks on PMF units have led to the martyrdom of several fighters who were performing their duties within the security forces. The spokesperson described these acts as systematic and repeated aggression, aiming to sow chaos and disrupt social peace.
Al-Nu’man further reiterated that these incidents not only breach military protocols but also undermine the security achievements made through the sacrifices of Iraqi martyrs. He stressed the importance of honoring the blood of the fighters, stating that Iraq should not become a battleground for settling scores or a venue for compromising national dignity.
