Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior affirmed on Thursday that the attack on the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) constitutes a blatant violation of state sovereignty. In a statement, the ministry expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the brutal and blatant attacks perpetrated against the brave members of the PMF as they performed their national duty alongside their brothers in the heroic security forces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement emphasized that the systematic and repeated aggression against one of the formations of the national security system represents a clear violation of Iraqi state sovereignty and an unacceptable transgression of laws and norms. The ministry stressed that these actions will not diminish the resolve of the fighters, but rather increase their determination to continue working to establish security and stability in every inch of the homeland.

The ministry further affirmed that the blood of the sons in the Popular Mobilization Forces and the security forces is one blood, defending the sanctity of Iraq. It underscored the necessity of respecting the prestige of the state and its military institutions. The statement concluded with a call for divine preservation of Iraq, mercy and eternity for the righteous martyrs, and a speedy recovery for the brave wounded.
