Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji confirmed that the government has taken strict security measures to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions and bodies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister Awad al-Araji received the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Nicol² Fontana, where discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and joint cooperation. Al-Araji highlighted the need for unified international efforts to resolve ongoing conflicts and promote lasting peace based on international law and the UN Charter.
Al-Araji emphasized Iraq’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy in addressing crises, aiming to halt military operations and foster understanding. He reiterated the government’s implementation of strict security measures to protect diplomatic entities and secure foreign experts providing training and advice with the Ministry of Interior.
Furthermore, Al-Araji condemned a recent attack on the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Qaim area, underlining the importance of supporting security and stability efforts. The Italian Ambassador expressed interest in strengthening ties with Iraq, aiming for expanded bilateral cooperation that serves common interests.
