Baghdad: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced the arrest of a drug dealer in possession of 4 kilograms of Captagon pills in Anbar province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate issued a press release stating that Military Intelligence personnel are actively exchanging information and coordinating with security forces across operational sectors to target drug dealers and traffickers. Based on precise intelligence, the Intelligence and Security Department of the 7th Infantry Division, in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted the operation leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of trafficking and distributing narcotics in Anbar province. The operation resulted in the seizure of 4 kilograms of Captagon pills, which is equivalent to 23,000 pills.

The Directorate further explained that the suspect is wanted under Article (28) of the Iraqi Narcotics Law. Following the arrest, both the individual and the seized narcotics were handed over following standard procedures.
