Salah al-din: The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) announced on Tuesday the arrest of three terrorists, including the official responsible for bomb-making, in Salah al-Din province.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the CTS said in a statement that, based on precise intelligence, its forces carried out a series of security operations in several areas, resulting in the arrest of three terrorists and the search of a number of hideouts across the country.
The statement highlighted the capture of one of the most dangerous terrorist operatives, identified as the group’s official responsible for bomb-making in Salah al-Din province. He was apprehended in Sulaymaniyah province in coordination with the Kurdistan Region’s Asayish Directorate of Operations.
Furthermore, the statement detailed that the CTS conducted several separate operations, leading to the arrest of two terrorists in Anbar and Mosul. These operations also included the search of several mud-built villages and hideouts used by ISIS remnants in Wadi Zaghitoun in Kirkuk.
The operations are part of the Counter-Terrorism Service’s ongoing efforts to track down remaining ISIS militants, safeguard citizens’ security, and preserve Iraq’s stability.
