Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi met with the head of the National Security Service, Basim Muhammad Yunis al-Badri, on Wednesday to discuss several issues related to the agency’s work and supporting its efforts to protect national security and enhance stability.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s media office issued a statement confirming the meeting between al-Halbousi and the newly appointed head of the National Security Service, al-Badri. The statement highlighted that the Speaker began the meeting by congratulating al-Badri on his new role, expressing his well-wishes for his success in the position.

The meeting focused on various aspects of the National Security Service’s operations, emphasizing the importance of supporting the agency’s initiatives to safeguard national security and foster stability within the country.
