Baghdad: The Minister of Trade Mustafa Nizar al-Ani has initiated the establishment of official channels to facilitate the reporting of corruption within the Ministry of Trade's departments. This directive, announced on Sunday, aims to enhance integrity and accountability within the ministry.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this initiative comes in response to directives from Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi, focusing on promoting transparency and recovering public funds. Minister al-Ani has emphasized the importance of citizen and employee involvement in reporting corruption cases, urging them to submit reports supported by evidence through designated email and phone contacts, which will be disclosed shortly. The channels will be directly connected to the Minister's office to ensure confidentiality and swift action.

Minister al-Ani assured that all reports would be handled confidentially and personally overseen by him. They will be forwarded to the relevant authorities to initiate legal proceedings against those implicated, thereby reinforcing transparency and safeguarding public resources.
