Integrity Commission Reports 157 Anti-Corruption Operations Conducted Last Month

Baghdad: The Integrity Commission announced today that it conducted 157 oversight operations during the month of June, resulting in the arrest of 59 individuals accused of administrative and financial corruption. This is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and prosecute violators.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the oversight operations were carried out through the Commission's branches in Baghdad and the provinces, including monitoring several important cases related to abuse of power and embezzlement of public funds. The operations also involved executing arrest warrants and search warrants against those involved in corrupt activities.

The Commission added that these measures are part of a national strategy aimed at consolidating the principles of integrity and reducing corruption. It affirmed its continued commitment to intensifying its field operations and coordinating with judicial authorities to ensure that all those involved are held accountable under the law.

Furthermore, the Commission stressed the importance of citizen cooperation in reporting corruption cases, noting that community support is a cornerstone in the success of anti-corruption efforts and in strengthening public trust in government institutions.
