Kirkuk Governor and Trade Minister Discuss Free Zones and Investment Support

Baghdad: The Minister of Trade, Dr. Mustafa Nizar Al-Ani, and Kirkuk Governor Mohammed Saman Kanaan have engaged in discussions to explore ways to activate free zones, bolster investment, and organize a specialized economic conference.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions took place in the minister's office, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Trade and the local government of Kirkuk. The Minister stressed the significance of establishing and activating free zones, viewing them as essential to the national economy by attracting investments and broadening economic opportunities across various governorates. This initiative aligns with the government's dedication to sustainable development.

Governor Kanaan extended an invitation to the Ministry of Trade to sponsor a specialized economic conference in Kirkuk. This event aims to involve local and international companies to promote exhibitions and open new investment channels, thus stimulating trade and supporting the economic growth of the region. The meeting highlighted the need for strengthened coordination and cooperation between the Ministry and the local government to achieve shared economic and development goals.
